Community - Port City Collision

Proudly Serving Wilmington, NC — On and Off the Road

Born and Raised in Wilmington. Driven to Give Back.

At Port City Collision, we don’t just restore vehicles — we help strengthen our community. As a locally owned and operated shop, we believe in rolling up our sleeves and doing what’s right, whether it’s on the frame rack or in the neighborhoods we call home.

Coastal BUDS

Our team is proud to support Coastal BUDS (Bringing Up Down Syndrome), a local nonprofit that uplifts and empowers individuals with Down syndrome and other intellectual or developmental disabilities — including those on the autism spectrum. We believe in inclusion, advocacy, and creating opportunities for every member of our community.

  • We help raise awareness and funds for local families and programs
  • We regularly contribute to Coastal BUDS events and initiatives
  • Port City team member Matt Elam was featured in a Board Member Spotlight Interview, sharing his story and commitment to the cause

Built with North Carolina Pride

While many shops cut corners by buying cheaper parts from out of state or overseas, we proudly source our parts from trusted North Carolina suppliers. It’s not always the cheapest way — but it’s the right way.

  • We Keep Dollars Circulating In The North Carolina Economy
  • We Help Support Local Jobs And Small Businesses
  • We Ensure Higher Quality And Faster Turnaround For Our Customers

Apprenticeship Program with Cape Fear Community College

We’re proud to partner with Cape Fear Community College to offer an apprenticeship program designed to train the next generation of collision repair professionals. This program gives students hands-on experience, mentorship from our expert technicians, and a direct path to a rewarding career in the automotive industry.

  • Supporting local education and workforce development
  • Providing real-world skills and certifications
  • Investing in Wilmington’s future, one apprentice at a time

“Get Home Safe” — A Legacy Initiative

Our “Get Home Safe” program was a powerful initiative we proudly ran for several years. During high-risk holidays and events like the Azalea Festival and New Year’s Eve, we partnered with local taxi companies to fund $25 ride vouchers — helping community members choose safety over risk. Though the program has since concluded, its mission continues to shape how we approach road safety and community responsibility.

  • Over 500+ rides funded
  • Supported by Yellow Cab and Lett’s Taxi
  • Featured in local press and praised for community impact

Port City Collision is a proud member of the Carolina’s Collision Association, a nonprofit that promotes safety, training, and professionalism in the auto repair industry. Our membership is just one way we stay committed to quality work and a safer Wilmington.
